So Greg arrived safe and sound (although I did almost lose him in Schipol airport on the very first day). We went back to Amsterdam on his first weekend here. The plan was to join some others at a lecture from Joseph Stiglitz, but we missed it and so we spent the evening checking out Amsterdam on our own. The next day we went to the Anne Frank House and the Rijksmuseum.
What is the best way to get someone comfortable and settled in a new place?? Take them to a food fair.
Trip number two was to a food fair at an ex-pat school in town. I think he liked it...
Over the past few weeks I have admit, I've been pretty busy with school so I haven't had too much time for little trips. Last weekend though, we made a daytrip to Brugge. It was busy with Christmas shoppers and in the centrum we found this- a huge line-up for a very small ice rink that they'd set up for Christmas. Greg was impressed with the Belgian waffles; not so much the Belgian outdoor rinks.
